What an Epic double trip with the boys from Southern Collision down in the Salt ... Dodging monsoon rains the first 4 hour trip we had a full coffin of bait in under 20 mins of trolling ... put out some fast troll lines and smashed some Macks on the way to the fishing grounds. We had 4 quick rips from smaller sharks before one of the Big rods connected. We had a nice battle with a double hookup of Blacktips with bear hugs and safe releases boatside before we had to head in all before noon...Great day...they had so much Fun they wanted another trip the next day...weather permitting...
Second day we squeezed in another 4 hr before the lads headed back to Canada... Bait and Go , we had a Beefcake of a BlackTip on before 9am ... 30 minute battle,boatside release.
All seemed to go quiet ...I knew something big was out there ... was long before I hooked up a 9 foot HAMMERHEAD which came in and actually took out BOTH rods at once !!! Double hooked she broke off one rod and left my guy fighting for 1hr 18mins (timer on the GoPro) before we got her boatside and safely cut the leaders and let her swim away ... back to the dock ... time was 11:40am...
Awesome is an understatement and sadly walleye and musky fishing won't ever be the same ... just ask Ivan and Colton... ...see you next round boys...
